TOUR 2015 NEWS 15/07/2015 16:32, Report by Adam Marshall Lou Macari shocked by Memphis Depay MUTV pundit Lou Macari has admitted he was taken aback after seeing new Manchester United signing Memphis Depay at close quarters for the first time on Tour 2015 promoted by Aon.
The recent recruit from PSV Eindhoven is expected to make his debut against Club America in the International Champions Cup clash over the weekend and is known to be a fitness fanatic in the gym. The 21-year-old is a striking figure in the flesh and looks capable of handling the rigours of the Premier League next term. "Memphis really has shocked me," admitted Macari to MUTV. "He is built like a tank. I can't believe what I'm seeing. I thought he was a frail, little guy but he's massive and strong with huge legs! "The new signings will have a massive impact as there is real competition for places," he continued. "I said watching certain games in the last two or three seasons that the bench was a bit weak but we're going to have the strongest bench of any team in the Barclays Premier League this season, especially with the midfield players." Meanwhile, Reds legend Bryan Robson feels Louis van Gaal could look to add another striker to his ranks before the transfer window closes next month. "I think we're not too bad defensively," said the former skipper. "Especially, when you're getting the protection from the midfield area now. I look at it and feel we need another top-class striker. I'll be delighted if we bought one world-class striker into the club now and then I think the balance of the squad is very good. "You're going to see in the next few training sessions how the new signings slot in and where the manager wants to play them. It will take them time to understand what the manager wants but he'll put that point over and I'm sure they'll grasp it as they're all top-class players we have just brought in. They will definitely strengthen us and it will be interesting to see how the manager balances it up with the formation that he plays. "We can't forget Ander Herrera as he is in the mix as well. He finished the season off really well and it's giving great competition in midfield. There's also the good thing with Marouane Fellaini that he showed in the last part of the season that he can go up front and help Wayne Rooney out up top so it's great to have that asset as well." www.manutd.com/en/Tour-2015/News-and-Features/2015/Jul/lou-macari-shocked-after-meeting-new-signing-memphis-depay.aspx?pageNo=1

Memphis is a BEAST, the vids of him show just how hard he is to knock off the ball, he isn't likely to be bullied, even in the Premier.
Ghostbusters huh??
Ghosts been in an out all day Currently they seem to have left the building\

TOUR 2015 NEWS15/07/2015 23:30, Report by James Tuck DI MARIA, ROJO AND CHICHARITO TO JOIN TOUR Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Javier Hernandez will fly out to join the pre-season tour on 25 July – but expects goalkeeper Victor Valdes to leave the club.
Di Maria, Rojo and Hernandez were absent from the squad that travelled to the United States after being given extra time off following their international commitments with Argentina and Mexico respectively, while goalkeeper Valdes was not selected and remained in Manchester. Chicharito spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and, at a press conference in Seattle, van Gaal explained his reasons for that move. "At the time we had to decide which strikers we could have," the boss said. "We had: [Danny] Welbeck, Chicharito, [Robin] van Persie and [James] Wilson. Then I had to make a decision to let Welbeck and Chicharito go. We had also bought Falcao. "So when you play a system with one or two strikers you can have too many strikers. You have to make decisions. One of those decisions was to let go Chicharito. But now he's coming back on 25 July." Van Gaal was asked whether Di Maria, who played a key role in Argentina’s run to the Copa America final, would be staying with the Reds for the 2015/16 season. "We shall see," the Dutchman said. "In football it's a process and I have said that many times. It's not clear in one day. It's a process for Di Maria, for United and we shall see. "For now he's still a member of United and he has told me he shall come on 25 July." www.manutd.com/en/Tour-2015/News-and-Features/2015/Jul/louis-van-gaal-di-maria-rojo-chicharito-hernandez-join-manchester-united-tour-25-july.aspx

TOUR 2015 NEWS 15/07/2015 22:54, Report by James Tuck VAN GAAL CONFIDENT IN NEW SIGNINGS Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is delighted with his summer purchases so far and feels his squad will be in good shape to challenge for honours in 2015/16.
At a press conference in Seattle to unveil Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, van Gaal declared he was "proud" to have captured the trio and outlined his reasons for signing each of them. "I'm very happy because, in my opinion, they are very good players," the boss said. "That's why we have bought them. "I'm very happy they're here before the tour – we can prepare all the team elements with them. There's also Memphis Depay and now the three new signings. It's much better than last year. "Our selection was not in balance [last season]. I wanted balance with my midfielders, so you could expect that I should buy two holding midfielders. Morgan is the type who I think can play in our system and in our philosophy. "Manchester United only buy players who can make a contribution to that. We are not buying for buying's sake. Every player who is sitting here can make a contribution." On Italian full-back Darmian, van Gaal said: "I always want a player who can defend in the first place. Matteo has very good orientation. He's also fast, he's a reasonable header of the ball – that's also a plus. And he can build up play." And of Germany captain Schweinsteiger, who he managed at Bayern Munich, the manager added: "I'm not only looking to the qualities of the player but also how he is as a human being. "I believe he will do his utmost best to perform in the same way he did at Bayern. I have a lot of confidence in him. "Morgan has played in the Premier League. The question is with Bastian and Matteo: can they cope with the Premier League? I'm fully confident they can." However, van Gaal warned that none of his new signings would be guaranteed a place in the side next season. "They know already that they have to fight for their position," the Dutchman continued. "It's never secure. Morgan has to fight with Schweinsteiger, Carrick, Blind... these are the players who can play in the centre of midfield. "Darmian has to fight with Valencia. He knows that and Valencia knows that also. And Michael Carrick knows as well – I told him at the end of last season. The difficulty is to get these players – it's not so easy – and I'm very proud, especially of Ed Woodward, that he's done that." www.manutd.com/en/Tour-2015/News-and-Features/2015/Jul/louis-van-gaal-delighted-with-signings-bastian-schweinsteiger-matteo-darmian-morgan-schneiderlin.aspx

Any predictions on lineups for the game? I'm thinking 4-3-3
----- DDG -------
Darmian Smalling Jones Shaw
Schweinsteiger Carrick Schneiderlin
Mata Rooney Depay
However not sure if LVG will start the newcomers. Definitely be a 1st half team then a 2nd half team.

TOUR 2015 NEWS6/07/2015 15:45, Report by Adam Marshall & Liam Cockshoot
JESSE LINGARD FEELING HUNGRIER THAN EVER Jesse Lingard says the arrival of more top-quality talent at Manchester United is only making him hungrier for the chance to break into the team on a regular basis.
The former FA Youth Cup winner made his competitive debut for the club in Louis van Gaal's first game in charge – the opening-day defeat to Swansea City last term. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury sustained in a challenge with Ashley Williams left him sidelined until February but he spent the end of the campaign on loan with Derby County and impressed for England Under-21s in the European Championship finals. Atter being one of the stand-out performers on the last trip to the United States, scoring in the International Champions Cup final win over Liverpool, the 22-year-old will be out to make a similar impact on Tour 2015, presented by Aon. "It's definitely different from the few times I've been on tour previously," Lingard told MUTV. "We've given a warm welcome to each player who has come in and it's a strong squad for the season. I think we'll go far this season. "There is always going to be competition, no matter where you go. You see [Bastian] Schweinsteiger and [Morgan] Schneiderlin come in and it makes you more hungry to do more to get into the team. It's healthy competition at the end of the day. Memphis has got a bubbly character about him and [Matteo] Darmian hangs around with the foreign guys a lot. There's good vibes in the camp at the moment. We can't wait to get the season under way but, at the moment, we need to concentrate on the games on tour." The intensive training sessions should ensure the players are fighting fit for the big kick-off against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on 8 August. "We're used to it," added Lingard, when asked about the hard work under the manager's watchful eye. "We've done it all the time throughout our careers and, with these double days, we've got to keep our focus and concentration." www.manutd.com/en/Tour-2015/News-and-Features/2015/Jul/jesse-lingard-determined-to-fight-for-his-place-at-manchester-united.aspx
